Purchasing a filling machine? Here are 5 questions to ask

Purchasing a food-filling machine should not be a gamble. When you choose a new machine for your food processing plant, you should do so with the certain knowledge that you have selected the correct one. The only way to ensure that you make the right choice is to ask the right questions. Armed with the following five questions, you can make the selection process easier and more precise. When you watch your new machine being installed on your production line, you will do so knowing that you have made the right choice.

Top 5 questions to ask before purchasing a volumetric filling machine for your food processing plant

As you assess the numerous options at your disposal, ask yourself and your supplier the following questions - and make sure you get definite answers!

  1. What is the best type of machine for my product? It all starts with your product. The machine must be compatible with the consistency, temperature, and other qualities of the food you are planning to fill. Tell the supplier all the details about your product and ask them to explain how their solutions will be suitable.
  2. Will this machine work with my containers? The machine must be able to work efficiently with the size and type of container you use. Again, speak to your machine supplier about your packaging and ask for solutions that will operate seamlessly with your containers.
  3. What are your current and future production needs? Your supplier will probably ask you this question first. You must have a strong idea of what you have in mind for your plant’s productivity. What is your current output? Do you want it to stay the same, or are you looking to increase it while keeping it streamlined and efficient? Your answers to this question will make it much easier to choose the right machine.
  4. Do I need a volumetric filling machine or some other type? The type of filler you choose will depend on the type of product you manufacture, and how you want to fill your containers. For food filling systems, volumetric machines are generally the most popular and the most efficient. For other products, such as beverages or sauces, you may want to consider liquid-level systems. Volumetric fillers are likely to be the ideal solution for your food processing plant, however.
  5. What type of automation am I using (or do I want to use), and which machines are most suitable for my chosen system? Is your production line fully automated, semi-automated, or manual? The answer to this question will quickly eliminate unsuitable options. If you come to Multi-Fill, for example, you may want to opt for our MPFMP-060, while the MPFSC-120 model is better for high-speed, fully automated systems.

Multi-Fill can help you answer all of these questions and supply the perfect filling machines to suit the needs of your food processing plant. If you are purchasing a filling machine, contact us today.
